Yes. SpendBalance is free to download and free to use, with no in-app purchases, no premium tier, and no subscription. Every feature in the app is available to everyone.
No. SpendBalance does not connect to banks and has no ability to do so. You enter transactions yourself, which means your bank credentials are never requested, shared, or stored.
No. Regular costs are set up once and then counted automatically: rent, a phone bill, a subscription, or an allowance can repeat daily, weekly, or monthly, and SpendBalance includes them in every period’s totals and charts without you entering them again. Recurring entries work for income as well as expenses. What you type in yourself is the discretionary spending that changes from week to week.
No. There is no sign-up, no email address, and no password. You can open SpendBalance for the first time and start tracking expenses immediately.
Your data is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. It is not sent to SpendBalance servers, and Apple’s App Privacy panel on the App Store listing reports "Data Not Collected" for this app.
Not currently. SpendBalance is available for iPhone and iPad running iOS 15.1 or later. There is no Android app, no web app, and no desktop app.
SpendBalance supports 66 currencies. You choose your currency in the app settings.
Yes. Because all data is stored on your device, the app works with no internet connection.
You can set an income or expense to repeat daily, weekly, or monthly — useful for rent, subscriptions, or an allowance. SpendBalance then adds those transactions to your records automatically.
The data SpendBalance stores on your device is not separately encrypted by the app. Because nothing is transmitted off the device, we recommend relying on your device passcode and Face ID or Touch ID to protect it.
Data export is not built into the app yet. Since your data stays on your device, it may be included in your regular device backups, such as iCloud.
Uninstalling SpendBalance permanently deletes the data stored on your device. Because there is no server-side copy, there is nothing to restore afterwards.
